When most people think about investing in real estate, the first thing that comes to mind is residential real estate. That is all fine. However, there is much money to be made from working with commercial real estate as well.
Commercial real estate is a very broad spectrum of properties, including multi dwelling units, warehouses, retail structures, factories and other types.
The business idea is to acquire real estate that is showing ongoing operating profit and on top increase the revenue by increase rent, leading to a higher value of the property.
Some buy and keep, and use the increase value and the cash flow, to invest in more properties. Others buy and develop for some time and then sell at a profit and move on to a new project. It basically comes down to the style that you think works best for your personality.
